"Which is the most important of all the commandments?"

Jesus said, "The first in importance is, ' Listen Israel: The Lord your God is one; so love the Lord God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence and energy.'"

"And here is the second: 'Love others as well as you love yourself.'"

Prayer of discernment (finding god's will)

A blog entry from Buddy Harrison (founder of Harrison House publishers). The four types of prayer, including the prayer of discernment, are:
Prayer of Supplication: The prayer of supplication is the kind of prayer that can be used in critical situations where there seems to be no other way...when our requests line up with God’s will, which is simply His Word, then He hears us and He answers.

Prayer of Faith: Mark 11:24 says, “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” BUT you need the inner assurance that when you ask you will receive. Usually, when you know the will of God in a particular area, then you can also have faith for it. Sometimes you can repeat “I believe I receive” and enter into having the inner assurance.  But, you can also fall into a ritual and not see any results.

Prayer of Agreement:
Matthew 18:19 says, “if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” The any thing is concerning the two of you. Two people can’t agree for other people, but they can intercede for other people. You can pray the prayer of agreement with people but not for them.

Discernment: First Timothy 2:1 says, “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving thanks, be made for all men.” These prayers can be prayed repeatedly. It is, always, all about being in relationship with your creator, knowing HIM, and his will.
