"Which is the most important of all the commandments?"

Jesus said, "The first in importance is, ' Listen Israel: The Lord your God is one; so love the Lord God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence and energy.'"

"And here is the second: 'Love others as well as you love yourself.'"

                                                                                                                                            Mark 12:28-31 The Message Bible

guidance meditation

Pat Robertson (in the CBN Winter 2018 edition of Miracle Living Today) says for a few days each December, he gets alone with God, to seek His plan for the new year. "I've found the following keys essential for unlocking deeper discernment, fresh revelation, and a profound intimacy with God":
 1. God's primary means of guiding us is the Bible.
   2. Guidance comes from knowing God - learn to listen to the still small voice daily - "This relationship develops over a long period of time, not instantaneously. Through constant use, your senses become sharpened so that you know good from evil. Spiritual maturity forms a basis for guidance."
     3. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV) In all you do, you acknowledge God is in control of you - don't lean on your own thinking - let Him guide you.

Here is the summary quote:
"You must have knowledge of Scripture, a personal knowledge of God, and the knowledge that you are living each day in tune with Him, expecting Him to lead. Finally, to have His guidance, you need to be filled with His Spirit... If your heart and life are centered on God, His Word, and His Holy Spirit, you can rest assured that He will direct your path... Study God's Word, worship Him, then look for the evidence of His direction."
