"Which is the most important of all the commandments?"

Jesus said, "The first in importance is, ' Listen Israel: The Lord your God is one; so love the Lord God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence and energy.'"

"And here is the second: 'Love others as well as you love yourself.'"

                                                                                                                                            Mark 12:28-31 The Message Bible

  2. Learn to take authority over our thought life.
3. Reduce internal and external distractions.
4. Overcome compulsive thinking that leads to compulsive behaviors.
5. Win the battle over our mind.
6. Squash every thought that exalts itself against God’s Word.
7. Stop striving and trust God.
8. Break the cycle of urgency and busyness.
9.Get our attention back on God.
10. Hide God’s Word in our heart.
11. Gain greater discipline.
12. Learn to live in the present moment.

Renew your mind
:  "Until we renew our minds and bring every thought captive to the thoughts and principles of God, our mind will literally sabotage our walk with God. One of the best ways to take authority over our minds is through meditation. Although many may think that meditation is just sitting quieting and emptying your mind, it is so much more than that. Meditation is a very active practice in training the mind and gaining authority over it instead of it having authority over you. Through Christian meditation we use the scripture to rein in wandering thoughts while at the same time, hiding God’s Word in our heart."

Enter His Presence: "Through the art of Christian Meditation, we surrender our whole being unto God by entering into his presence and bringing our mind and body under subjection to Christ. Through quieting the mind, meditating on God’s Word, and abiding in His Presence, we consecrate ourselves unto God and away from the world, it’s distractions and worldly attachments and affections. Each time we enter into God’s Secret Place, we allow his transforming presence to change us inwardly where we discover the deeper things of God, a world within a world, that many never dig deep enough to find."

Be healed: "
All of us suffer from past hurts and pains. When we come to Christ, we literally become new creatures but we still bring along our baggage from the past. We continue to struggle and suffer in certain areas of our life and have no idea why. This is usually the result of some unresolved fear, hurt, or pain from our past. Many of these stem from childhood traumas, mindsets, or crisis we have had to endure as adults. Oftentimes these wounds are unconscious to us, just lurking beneath the surface of our waking mind. We also have a tendency to deny, hide, or bury the thoughts or feelings associated with these hurts and pains instead of seeking healing, freedom, and deliverance from them. Father God doesn’t want us to cope with our pain, He wants to deliver us from it and in return we can help others.Christian meditation is like the doorway to the soul. As we become quiet before the Lord, thoughts and feelings of the past begin to creep up to the surface. We often come face to face with our pain, but that is a good thing, because what we can feel we can heal. Once we recognize and acknowledge our pain, we can then turn it over to God and receive healing."

"Meditation is the act of meditating; continued or extended thought; reflection; contemplation; or devout religious contemplation or spiritual introspection. Therefore, the practice of Christian meditation would be to engage in thought, contemplation, and reflection about our relationship with Christ and/or the Word of God."
