Romans 12:1-2 (MSG):
"So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you."
Meditate JOYFULLY on giving God each and every piece of you: Your life, your thoughts, your emotions, your talents, your relationships, your resources, your "good and bad" traits, each sensory gate (eyes, ears, etc.), every heartbeat and breath. Be still, then ask God to take you through the meditation - surrendering each part of you. Ask Him to show you how to see you as He sees you (hint - it will be deep deep love that will break you - and cause you to surrender even more than you knew you had.) HAVE FUN in this meditation - its a party - you're giving a gift and you are receiving gifts. Its a holiday (holy day)!
Offer yourself - as your gift - in deep gratitude - to your creator, savior, spirit of life. Jesus chose us. We choose Him. This is the right response - by my free will I JOYFULLY give myself to you!
Invite the Holy Spirit into your being. Ask God to commune with you. Then pay attention.
