Pluck out your eyes? Really? No Way....

Anybody troubled by these verses?
Matt 5: 27-29 (NIV) “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’[e] But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.  If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.
Matt 18: 7-9 (NIV) Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come! ...
And if your eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.
Mark 9:47 And if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell...

Romans 12:1-2 (MSG):
"So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you."

I want to be wholehearted (prayer)

For I know the plans I have for you,' says the Lord. 'They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for Me wholeheartedly, you will find Me. I will be found by you,' says the Lord. 'I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land. (Jeremiah 29:11-14 NLT)

Meditation: Ask God to show you His plans for you. Ask Him to show you if you lack any wholeheartedness, and if so, to heal those parts of your heart. Ask Him to show you any captivity in your life, and to bring you home to Him.

you are loved and empowered

This is what Jesus prayed for you (very important you know this deep in your heart):

At John 17:21-23, Jesus prayed:"I pray for them all to be joined together as one even as You and I, Father, are joined together as one. I pray for them to become one with Us so that the world will recognize that You sent Me. For the very glory You have given to Me I have given them so that they will be joined together as one and experience the same unity that We enjoy. You live fully in Me and now I live fully in them so that they will experience perfect unity, and the world will be convinced that You have sent Me, for they will see that You love each one of them with the same passionate love that You have for Me." (The Passion Translation)

Chew on Jesus's prayer for you (above), and chew on Paul's response (below):

Galatians 2:20:"My old identity has been co-crucified with Messiah and no longer lives; for the nails of His Cross crucified me with Him. And now the essence of this new life is no longer mine, for the Anointed One lives His life through me — we live in union as one! My new life is empowered by the faith of the Son of God who loves me so much that He gave Himself for me, and dispenses His life into mine!" (The Passion Translation)
